Voters Education Campaign for Persons With Disabilities

On Thursday February 13 2020, the Guyana Council of Organisations for Persons with Disabilities (GCOPD) in partnership with International Republican Institute will be launching their Voters Education Campaign for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).  The launch will be held at the National Library conference room (76-77 Church and Main streets Georgetown) beginning at 11:00am.  Delivering the feature address will be the US Ambassador to Guyana Her Excellency Sarah Ann Lynch.  Other speakers will include the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, Justice Claudette Singh and the Chairman of GCOPD Mr. Cecil Morris.

Through the  Voters Education Campaign PWDs will be sensitized on their rights as voters.  Additionally the PWDs will be educated on the voting process.  Also through  the campaign information will be provided using various media to GECOM elections day staff with tips on how to appropriately communicate and interact with voters with disabilities.
