The project commenced in September 2023 and encompasses a series of activities scheduled over a period of 12 months. These activities entail the construction of four shade houses, the facilitation of three (3) three-day training sessions, as well as the cultivation and harvesting of crops. Participants will have the opportunity to consume the produce grown from their efforts, with any surplus being sold for profit.

These innovative farming techniques optimize available space while minimizing physical labor, making them accessible to individuals with diverse abilities. Each participant will receive training in soil preparation, fertilizer application, crop arrangement for optimal yield, utilization of gardening tools, crop monitoring, pest and weed management, record-keeping, and crop harvesting.

Beyond the provision of technical guidance, the project fosters a supportive environment where members can exchange experiences, share ideas, and establish networks for ongoing support. By creating opportunities for food sovereignty and economic empowerment, this initiative aims to dismantle barriers and empower marginalized individuals to lead self-sufficient and fulfilling lives.
